| Does feeding your baby horizontally really cause ear infections?
Yes. Feeding your baby in a prone position increases the risk of getting ear infections. Please see the ear infections links for more information. This is one of the few risk factors that you can control with using RxNipple™

Does medicine mix with formula/liquid in the bottle?
The medicine will only mix with the formula in the nipple portion of the bottle. Formula will come through the valve from the bottle when your infant sucks on the nipple or when you fill area above the valve by forcing formula from the bottom (bag system) or squeeze the nipple itself (bagless).
Are there any special cleaning instructions for the valve?
You can simply clean the valve by hand with warm water and soap or you can put it in the dishwasher as well.

My child is especially sensitive to the taste of medicine, any suggestions?
Use RxNipple™ to administer medicine. Always check with your doctor when mixing medicine and formula, but this is why we initially developed the RxNipple™ insert. You can snap the insert into the nipple, measure your medicine in a syringe or cup, open the valve of the RxNipple™ and pour the medicine into the nipple. Place the RxNipple™ on the bottle and fill the nipple with formula. You will be pleasantly surprised how well your infant will take the medicine with the formula!
Why shouldn't I mix my child's medication in their regular bottle with all the formula?
This is what we tried first. The problem is that our kids rarely finished their bottle and often spit up so it made it impossible to know how much medication our guys were getting.
What are the best times to administer medication/vitamins to my baby using RxNipple™?
Feeding times are a great, but consult with your child's doctor as to when they suggest you administer the medication and work from there.
I notice a small air pocket in the tip of the nipple when I put the bottle down during feeding. Is this normal?
Yes. This happens because the RxNipple™ is flexible and slightly deforms from the weight of the formula pulling down on it when the bottle is upright. Simply continue feeding as normal or you can gently push up on the liner as you begin feeding.
Can I reheat my bottle with formula in the nipple?
We do not recommend reheating the bottle with formula in the nipple because this can get much hotter than the formula in the bottle. Simply pinch the nipple and the RxNipple™ to open the valve so that the formula drains back into the bottle. We DO NOT recommend using a microwave to heat or re-heat bottles.
I notice that my RxNippleT is not holding formula in the nipple any longer. What is happening?
Although we make the RxNipple™ from the same quality material as your Playtex® nipple, it can eventually wear out with continued use and cleaning and should be replaced with a new RxNipple™.
